What are the admission requirements?

The following documentation must be provided to SembraSchool prior to beginning course:

High School Transcripts or High School Equivalency Certification (G.E.D)

Two forms of valid identification – Photo ID and Social Security Card

TB skin test results within the past 12 months or chest x-ray for positive TB test results.

Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) perform a range of nursing tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. CNAs focus on meeting the physical, social, and emotional needs of their patients and their families. Nurse Aides may work in a hospital, nursing home, long-term or community care facility, or even in patients’ homes.

General duties CNAs perform include:

  • Taking vital signs such as pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration
  • Detecting and reporting abnormal observations
  • Helping patients to move, turn, and walk
  • Bathing and dressing the patient
  • Feeding the patient
  • Collecting specimens for lab tests
  • Supporting the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families
  • Ensuring patient safety
  • Preventing the spread of infection
  • Communicating effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

To become a CNA-I in North Carolina, you must complete all three of the following steps:

  1. Pass a State-Approved Nurse Aide I Training Program like the one available at Sembra School.
  2. Schedule and take the Nurse Aide I competency exam.
  3. Become listed on the NC Nurse Aide Registry

According to salary.com, the average salary for a CNA in Raleigh, NC is $28,000 to $32,000 per year.

Our state-approved Nurse Aide I (NA-I) training program is 120 hours long and consists of 40 hours of classroom time, 48 hours in the lab, and 32 hours at the clinical site.

  • Fast-track Morning and Evening Classes: (6 weeks) Meet Monday through Friday.

The full price for the program is $999.00. This includes a non-refundable registration fee, tuition, textbook, uniform (scrubs and ID badge), and a criminal background check fee. There are no additional hidden costs. 

The only other cost you are responsible for is $140.00 payable to Credentia for the North Carolina state (written and skills) exam.
